Military Infrared Night Vision

Military infrared night vision and thermal imaging night vision all have their own imagining principle. Generally speaking, normal military infrared night vision is also called active night vision, but the thermal imaging night vision is called passive night vision.

The target of normal military infrared one usually needs light. Its principle is that amplification the weak light into the bright one which could be saw by people. So this night vision should be equipped with infrared emitter when there is without any light. On the contrary, passive night vision needs to use infrared detector, optical imaging lens and optical scanning system. Whether in the day or night, the targets of this passive night vision is exactly the same.

Certainly different night vision are in different observation feelings. In general, infrared night vision instrument observe the objective lens through the lens directly. So the view through this night vision is round, that is same as telescope. Digital night vision is electronic. In fact, you can only see the imaging on the internal LCD screen. At the same time, the view through the digital night vision is in square.
